Stephen Burhenn
Principal
Prior to joining Emerald Lake, Mr. Burhenn worked in the Private Equity Group at Ares Management for 12 years culminating in a Principal role.
During his time at Ares, Mr. Burhenn was responsible for thesis development, sourcing, managing and executing investments across multiple sectors and transaction types, playing a senior role in a number of leveraged buyout and distressed transactions in healthcare, business services and consumer/retail. While at Ares, Mr. Burhenn served as a member of the Board of Directors of numerous companies including Guitar Center, Convergint, Sotera Defense Solutions and US Heart & Vascular. Prior to joining Ares, Mr. Burhenn worked in the Investment Banking Division at Citigroup where he supported healthcare and metals and mining clients in M&A transactions.
Mr. Burhenn holds an A.B. degree in economics from Stanford University.
